Day 6 - Snow to Navajo

SNOWMYGOD

We wake up to- snow. Ugh. I hate being cold! We leave our fairly boring but nice KOA, realizing only that morning that we really under utilized the fact that they had an indoor game room and nice little playground. We take note that we need to check out everything the campground has to offer and actually use it next time. We also agree that Mike will have nothing to do with dinner every evening but goes and does something with the boys and gives me time to make it. It's little tweaks like that in finding our groove that make all the difference in keeping your sanity, and even dare I say making it fun on a trip like this. As we leave Williams there are straight up PLOWS on the road the snow is so bad. We keep our expectations low for how far we get today and aim for Page, AZ.
We are definitely not in LA anymore.
We finally get out of the Flagstaff area and head through Navajo Nation, and man is it desolate. But no snow! It gets progressively warmer as we move north. I say I want to stop at some point and buy jewelry. I just realized as I write this two weeks later that never happened. Ooopsie.
The boys named these sheep Chocolate and Vanilla. I realized later the sheep bros have a lot in common coloring wise with our little bros.

Pretty damn flat. But really amazing how far your could see!
We actually hit Page, AZ earlier than expected and the boys fall asleep around there so we decide to keep driving and put Kenab, UT in our cross-hairs for the night. We cross over an amazing dam we didn't know existed (Glen Canyon Dam) near Lake Powell. The whole area is beautiful, including the gorgeous view of the Lake. It's a shame the boys are sleeping, but G would most likely be focusing on counting and Arlo on screaming if they were awake. G is now obsessed with counting to the Octillions. He sure is persistent!

We realize somewhere around here that we have no idea what time it is. Part of AZ didn't observe daylight savings time and then we think we changed time zones too? We don't really care, and it REALLY feels like vacation if you don't even have a signal on your phone to try and figure out what time zone you are in. We'll eat and sleep when we feel like it thank you very much. What day is it anyway?

Driving over the dam. Poor guy has to keep his eyes on the road.

A new state!!!

Lake Powell!

Not a bad view from the camper.
Butte-iful place to swing.

We get to Kenab and stay at the Crazy Horse RV park, which is nestled next to an amazing red butte that looks super cool at sunset. Mike is becoming a pro at hooking up the electric, water and sewer by now meaning if we stay in a nice campground we have all the modern conveniences of home. The boys play on the playground while I make dinner and everyone is truly a happy camper. After dinner the weather is cool but beautiful and I teach G how to gallop on the way to Wendy's for Frosties. G looked up at me galloping like he had just seen fire for the first time. What fun! Today was really nice and we are hoping we're over the learning curve of RVing.

We finally had a network in this campground for the boys to watch their beloved "Tree Fu Tom." They were beside themselves with excitement when I could finally put it on!
